The animated video titled "Karma in Lao Cai's Nu Village" has been circulating on social media since the evening of September 16.
By the morning of September 17, this video had been removed, and the Little Lessons channel was no longer visible on YouTube.
The video is over 40 minutes long, the content is about a tiger from the forest returning to the village to disturb the lives of the people, without mentioning the flash flood disaster, Lang Nu or Lao Cai. But deliberately using the name Lang Nu to attract attention.
After a few hours, the video attracted thousands of views. Many viewers were upset, saying that this YouTube channel distorted and exploited the pain of the people of Lang Nu to create attention-grabbing content.
This video was posted by the YouTube channel Little Lessons with more than 324,000 subscribers, specializing in animated content for children, each video has tens of thousands of views.
After being reported and criticized by many viewers, the channel owner changed the title and illustration, and locked the comment section.
However, there are opinions that this channel is temporarily locked, will be displayed again and continue to operate. Initially, the video named "Qua ban Lang Nu Lao Cai" was also hidden from the Vietnam region, after being renamed and adding a background image (thumbnail), it was posted publicly.
Singer Nguyen Vu expressed his anger at this offensive video: "I see that they seem to disregard everything to create content that attracts views and likes. They even take advantage of the pain and loss of others."
Some accounts said: "Inhumane, I reported it as soon as I saw the video with such a blatant title", "How insensitive and immoral must one be to create content like this", "The pain in Lang Nu has not yet subsided and the channel dares to fabricate to create content"...
Many parents shared that they follow the channel and often let their children watch some of the videos posted. However, the offensive and insensitive video about Lang Nu made them angry.
Many people believe that the act of deliberately attracting attention with deviant content is wrong, not only causing public outrage but also having a negative impact on the perception of children watching the channel.
