Vuong To Hien speaks out for the first time about licensing the use of images for AI

Once-beauty Vuong To Hien has just rarely appeared in public after many years of absence, sharing about licensing the use of images for AI.

Vuong To Hien - a 59-year-old actress once dubbed "Asia's first beauty" - has disappeared from the public's eyes for more than 2 decades, but recently she has a new move that attracts attention.

On August 15, Vuong To Hien suddenly appeared in Guangzhou (China). She did not return to acting, nor did she launch an entertainment program, but appeared to speak out about a controversial topic related to herself.

Last month, the Chinese entertainment industry was stirred up by the news that Vuong To Hien had licensed the use of her own AI (artificial intelligence) image at the peak of her beauty, from about 20 to 30 years old, for commercial purposes by a famous online game publisher.

Through this, she is said to be the first Hong Kong (China) artist to comprehensively license facial imagery for AI application. This information quickly attracted attention, while the video promoting the use of AI also raised many mixed opinions.

This time returning, Vuong To Hien for the first time publicly revealed the reason for accepting to license the use of images for AI, and shared his views on the relationship between works, technology and people.

Speaking about the reason for the collaboration related to AI, Vuong To Hien said that when she was young, she also liked playing games and was not unfamiliar with the game world. She said: "I also really want to take this opportunity to meet young people today in the game world, and at the same time to make today's younger generation understand me better.

It is known that the digital short film "Thien Anh" is in the IP ecosystem of the game "Thien Ha" and was made in the form of Vuong To Hien licensing the use of AI images to appear, while To Bach Le took on voice acting.

For the first time, I felt very shocked," Vuong To Hien shared at the event. The change from black hair to gray hair made her clearly feel the mark of time, bringing the feeling of "life as if separated by a lifetime".

For her, this collaboration is not simply bringing the screen image of the past back, but like helping a classic image that has been in the audience's memory for a long time to connect back to the present through a new means.

Vuong To Hien said that she is a person who "partially likes new things", and "also likes new things but still nostalgic for old ones". Classic values still exist, while AI brings a different way of enjoying and expressing. Faced with the difference between digital and real images, she hopes people can give more space to new technologies.

When asked why he is willing to license images, Vuong To Hien said: "Actually, I don't think too much. I think the new world must have new things, the old world is also very good, and it will also become the foundation of the new world.

The beauty "Thiện nữ u hồn" sees this attempt as a choice towards a new world, and at the same time gives her perspective on the relationship between humans and technology: "We use AI, not for AI to use us".

According to her, technology can give the audience one more choice, but whether to experiment or not, how to express it and what to convey through it still has to come from the proactive decision of the human being.
