Attending the contest were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Le Tien Truong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group; Mr. Truong Van Cam - Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association; Mr. Than Duc Viet - General Director of May 10 Corporation; Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Trade Union, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest; representatives of emulation blocs of industry trade unions, corporations, general corporations directly under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; 21 teams participating in the contest and a large number of workers and laborers coming to cheer for the teams.
Speaking at the opening of the contest, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest said that in the joyful atmosphere of workers, civil servants, and laborers nationwide striving to emulate labor production to successfully implement socio-economic development goals in 2026 and practically respond to the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income" launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union and Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group coordinated to organize the 7th Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Skilled Workers Contest, in the field of sewing - weaving.
According to Ms. Tam, the world and Vietnam are entering a new stage of development. Besides opportunities, new challenges are emerging for Vietnam's textile and garment industry, especially digital transformation and green transformation.

“In that context, modern machinery, smart technology, but the decisive factor in the competitiveness of businesses is still people.
A business that wants to develop sustainably needs to be based on the foundation of a team of good workers. Vietnam's textile and garment industry's sustainable development must be built on the foundation of a team of skilled workers with high skills, industrial style, sense of responsibility and constant creativity.
That is also the reason why the Vietnam Textile and Garment Union and Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group always identify training professional skills, discovering, fostering, honoring and replicating typical skilled workers as one of the important tasks in building high-quality human resources," Ms. Tam affirmed.
Ms. Tam said that through its organizations, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Skilled Workers Contest has truly become a big festival, a place for collectives and individuals to exchange, learn experiences, share good operations, advanced production organization methods; and also an opportunity to honor skilled workers - golden hands, people who are day and night affirming their value and contribution to the Vietnamese Textile and Garment industry in the international market.
This year's contest, the Organizing Committee added content to support innovation in the garment industry, recycled fashion products with the theme "Green fashion - Sustainable development". From there, many new ideas and practical initiatives can be applied in practice, creating valuable products, contributing to spreading the movement of creativity and sustainable development throughout the industry.
On behalf of workers and laborers participating in the contest, Ms. To Thi Phuong Thuy - worker of Nha Be Garment Corporation - Joint Stock Company, affirmed that laborers coming to the contest not only seek awards but also want to affirm the capacity, bravery and pride of Vietnamese textile and garment workers.

We will be confident, compete with all our strength, strictly comply with regulations; compete honestly, fairly, and civilizedly. I hope that through the contest, good practices and good labor examples will continue to be spread so that the spirit of emulation "Good labor, high productivity, good income" will be replicated more and more, creating practical values for workers and businesses," Ms. Thuy affirmed.
Before the contest took place, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented flowers to congratulate representatives of the contesting teams.

The 7th Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Skilled Worker Contest - 2026 has 3 exam contents: Men's and women's shirts (3 men's shirts and 3 women's shirts), exam time 120 minutes; vest and shorts (3 vests and 3 shorts), exam time 135 minutes; woolen jacket and vest (3 woolen jackets and 3 vests), exam time 150 minutes.
Award structure: Industry-level Skilled Worker; Gold Hand Award, Silver Hand Award, Bronze Hand Award; Beautiful Sewing Pattern Award/Beautiful Design Pattern Award/Best Team Coordination Award; Fastest Completed Exam.
