In Korea, entertainment company SM Entertainment has taken the lead in applying AI to create a virtual version of the music group aespa with 4 members created by artificial intelligence. In early June, American singer Washed Out attracted attention when releasing the MV "The Hardest Part" made entirely by Sora - an AI tool developed by Open. WHO. This is also considered the first music MV made entirely with artificial intelligence tools.
In July 2024, a Japanese artist named Arata Fukoe also used tools such as ChatGPT, Midjourney and Kling to create MVs. This MV is only 0.38 seconds long but includes sharp images and graphics that are not inferior to a MV directly performed by humans. Although admitting there are still small mistakes in the MV, Arata Fukoe feels satisfied with the results.
Also according to artist Arata Fukoe, AI is opening up new creative possibilities, helping artists reduce their dependence on traditional studios. AI can handle many tasks at the same time - something that previously required a large team.
In Vietnam, the application of artificial intelligence technology in making music videos has also been applied by some artists. The MV "Em oi Vi Dau" by singer Dan Truong is said to be the first Vietnamese MV made entirely by AI. Or Ha Anh Tuan and Vu Thanh Van also have the first AI applications in music products.
There are still controversies
At the present time, in a field that needs a lot of emotion and authenticity, artificial intelligence technology seems to only be able to play a supporting role because the audience needs more from an artist - division. Share and sympathize through each product instead of just lifeless images created by AI.
Although he is a pioneer and dares to challenge new things, singer Dan Truong 's MV "Dear for oil" faced controversy from the audience right from its debut. The flaws in this MV are considered unacceptable in a music product presented to the public. Dan Truong's image in this MV is criticized as dry and emotionless.
