According to information from the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, the ceremony to receive the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son World Cultural Heritage Certificate, Kien Bac by UNESCO is expected to start at 8:00 p.m. on December 20, 2025 at Minh Tam Square, Yen Tu Relic and Scenic Area, Yen Tu Ward, Quang Ninh Province.
The announcement ceremony was co-chaired by the People's Committees of Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong City, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO and related departments and branches.
In addition to the ceremony, there is also a special art program jointly organized by Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong, and a low-altitude fireworks display is expected.
The event is expected to have the presence of Party and State leaders; leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism and central ministries and branches; the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to UNESCO, the National Cultural Heritage Council, the Department of Cultural Heritage, representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and many experts and researchers.
The international delegation attended include: UNESCO Director General, Director of the World Heritage Center, General Director of ICOMOS; ambassadors of countries that are members of the World Heritage Committee for the 2023-2027 term, such as Argentina, Bulgaria, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Qatar, Korea, Turkey, Ukraine... and representatives of the UNESCO Office in Vietnam.
The three localities with heritage also sent large delegations to attend, including leaders of provinces, cities, departments, and representatives of people of communes and wards related to heritage. The ceremony is expected to attract about 15,000 people, including delegates, tourists and people.
The Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic complex and scenic spot were recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage on July 12, 2025.
This is also the 9th world heritage of Vietnam recognized by UNESCO and the second inter-provincial world heritage of the country, as well as of Quang Ninh province, after the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba archipelago.
