Data from the Traveloka platform shows that in the period April - May 2026 compared to January - February 2026, the number of accommodation searches not only increased in the center of Da Nang but also spread to neighboring areas, which are increasingly considered by tourists as independent destinations with their own attraction:
Ngu Hanh Son - a scenic spot located on the south coast of Da Nang along with peaceful beaches - recorded a 76% increase in search and accommodation volume.
Hoi An ancient town - World Cultural Heritage recognized by UNESCO, about 30km south of Da Nang center - increased by 52%.
Son Tra Peninsula - home to Linh Ung Pagoda and a diverse coastal ecosystem - recorded an increase of 45%.
Da Nang's appeal continues to be strengthened as the city has just been ranked second by Lonely Planet in the list of "Asia's Most Attractive Summer Destinations". Data from the Traveloka platform shows that the trend of expanding search to neighboring areas is driven by three main factors:
The dense event schedule encourages tourists to stay longer: The 2026 Summer event series in Da Nang is creating more motivation for tourists to extend their journey and explore surrounding destinations. Notable is the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2026), which was voted by Travel + Leisure magazine into the Top 9 most worth experiencing summer festivals in the world. Besides, the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (June-April 7) and the Vietnam - Japan Festival (July 9-12).
Many different experiences within a short travel distance: Each area around Da Nang possesses its own unique attractions. Ngu Hanh Son stands out with natural scenery and traditional fine art stone villages; Son Tra peninsula is attracted by a diverse ecosystem and unique sea scenery; while Hoi An attracts tourists thanks to its UNESCO-recognized heritage values and vibrant nightlife and entertainment.
The tourism market is increasingly mature in planning: The trend of searching by specific region shows that Vietnamese and regional tourists are researching and planning their trips more carefully than before.
Not only shown through search data, Da Nang's infrastructure and connectivity are also helping the city become an ideal transit point for journeys exploring many destinations in the Central region.
Da Nang has also been honored twice by the World Travel Awards as "Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination" in 2016 and 2022. This title continues to contribute to consolidating the city's position on the regional tourism map, while shaping tourists' expectations for a vibrant destination with year-round cultural, entertainment and event activities.
