International tourists overwhelmed by the festival in Da Nang
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Da Nang welcomed about 1.78 million overnight visitors in May, an increase of 28.9% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the number of international visitors reached 872,000, and domestic visitors reached 906,000.
The total number of overnight visitors in the first five months of the year reached 7.74 million, an increase of 20.9%. The number of overnight visitors maintained high growth, reaching 1.6 million in May and accumulated seven million in five months. South Korea continued to lead the international visitor market with more than 130,800 visitors. Followed by China with 75,500 visitors, India with 64,100 visitors and Russia with 28,600 visitors.
Mr. Gaurav Ahuja, a tourist from India, said: "This is the first time I have seen the Fireworks Festival in Da Nang. Everything is explosive when music and fireworks blend together. It feels like the whole city gathers in one place to enjoy art.
Ms. Pooja Adhikari, another tourist, also expressed: "On this occasion, I watched colorful and brilliant fireworks displays in the sky. We were very impressed.
Many tourists when watching the fireworks festival in Da Nang were also impressed by the performances of this year's teams, especially the fireworks team from Japan.
The way they choose music in coordination with the rhythm of fireworks is very sophisticated," a tourist said.
Activate the multi-experience event series
Not only attracting a large number of tourists through the Fireworks Festival nights, Da Nang continues to implement a series of large-scale stimulus programs. From July 22 to 26, the Da Nang Enjoyment Festival 2026 will officially take place with the message Feeling, Enjoying and Discovering.
The biggest highlight is the opening program at Bien Dong Park on the evening of July 22, combining art performances and modern stage effects. People can participate in the Experiencing space through yoga sessions to welcome the sunrise on Pham Van Dong beach, enjoy tea at Linh Ung Pagoda or trek the Son Tra peninsula ecosystem. The Enjoyment space brings a series of exciting sea sports activities such as volleyball, paragliding, jetski and electronic music nights and outdoor cinemas. The Discovery Journey will take the public to traditional craft villages. At the same time, the Summer Enjoyment Week and Summer Tour lasting from June to August are also widely organized.
At the same time, the fourth Da Nang Asian Film Festival taking place from June 28 to July 4 promises to expand the influence of Vietnamese cinema. The ceremonies are broadcast live on national television. The event attracted 13 works competing for Asian Film awards and 11 Vietnamese Film works participating in the competition. About 22 international companies will come to the city to meet 10 domestic producers, opening up opportunities to bring cultural stories to the world market.
