According to Lao Dong's records, after the New Year's Eve fireworks display celebrating Binh Ngo Spring 2026, many people and tourists began to flock to Hung Yen Mother Temple to offer incense and worship.

For local people and neighboring provinces, going to Mother Goddess Temple at the beginning of the year has become a custom. According to folk beliefs, if you ask for Mother Goddess's fortune in the first days of spring, the whole year will be smooth and business will be favorable. Therefore, not only older people but also many young people come to offer incense, praying for health and luck for themselves and their families.

Ms. Thanh Nhan (Tien Hoa, Hung Yen) said that for many years, every year her family has visited Mau Temple on New Year's Eve: "After watching fireworks, my family takes advantage of going to Mau Temple to offer incense. At the beginning of the year, asking for fortune, at the end of the year, thanksgiving, as a way to start the new year in peace and send wishes for a harmonious and lucky year.
Mau Temple was built in 1278, initially with only a small compartment to worship Mrs. Duong Quy Phi - who was revered as Duong Thien Hau. Legend has it that the temple was built on the "rooster dragon" position, with a semi-circular lake in front by the Red River dike, creating the "Mountain Display Water" position, considered the "spirit, earth, and human harmony" region.

Having gone through nearly 1,000 years associated with the history of the land "first Kinh Ky, second Pho Hien", the temple currently preserves 15 imperial decrees from the Le Dynasty to the Nguyen Dynasty along with many horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences, and large characters praising Duong Quy Phi's virtue. In 1990, the relic was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic and belongs to the Pho Hien Special National Relic Area.
In the early spring days, incense smoke billows and covers the sacred space. The main offerings are incense, flowers, and candies. After entering the forbidden palace to perform the ceremony for 5 to 10 minutes, people lower the offerings to bring back for blessings. Some people, because they do not have enough time to wait, choose to worship from the outside.

To ensure security and order, the Relic Management Board arranges forces to regulate traffic, supervise the inner sanctuary area, and strictly prohibit superstitious activities such as substitution worship, hired rituals, and fortune-telling.
In recent years, Hung Yen has focused on promoting tourism associated with the "legacy road" route, in which spiritual culture is identified as an important highlight. Mau Temple is not only a place of religious activities for people but also a familiar spring tourist destination, contributing to creating attraction for Pho Hien land every Tet and spring.
