The plaintiff is Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung (born in 1963, sister of the late artist Vu Linh) and the defendant is Vo Thi Hong Loan (born in 1987, daughter of the late artist Vu Linh).
On the morning of January 7, the plaintiff, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung and her daughter, Le Thi Hong Phuong (born in 1987, a person with related rights and obligations) were present in court. The defendant, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan and her authorized representative, Nguyen Thi Minh Thai, were also present in court.
Hundreds of people stood outside the courthouse early in the morning to watch the news of the case. Police were stationed outside the courthouse to maintain order and security. Only those with court summonses were allowed to attend the trial.
Previously, in June 2023, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung sued Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan over an inheritance dispute. The plaintiff requested the court to consider canceling a number of documents related to Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan's personal identity; requesting the cancellation of the inheritance declaration document made by Ms. Hong Loan on April 7, 2023 at Huynh Thi Ngoc Yen Notary Office with the inheritance of artist Vu Linh, namely Mr. Vo Van Ngoan, including:
The house and land use rights at No. 5 Doan Thi Diem (Ward 1, Phu Nhuan District) have been transferred to Ms. Hong Loan; the land use rights for plots No. 87 and 88 in Linh Dong Ward (Thu Duc City) and a car have been transferred to Ms. Hong Loan; request to cancel the update of changes on the land use rights certificate at No. 5 Doan Thi Diem regarding the transfer to Ms. Hong Loan.
The Plaintiff also requested the court to determine that the entire estate of the late artist Vu Linh is an inherited property, owned by the second-order heirs, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung and Mr. Vo Thanh Nhieu; to force the residents of house number 5 Doan Thi Diem to return the house to Ms. Nhung and Mr. Nhieu; and to verify the signature of the late artist Vu Linh on the documents related to the defendant's identity.
Meanwhile, the defendant did not accept all of the plaintiff's claims. The defendant asserted that he was the sole heir of the late artist Vu Linh. At the same time, the defendant submitted to the court all the documents confirming that Ms. Hong Loan was the legitimate child of artist Vu Linh.
According to the defendant, the plaintiff's claim that there is no first-line heir is unfounded. In fact, Ms. Loan has lived with artist Vu Linh's family since 1987. The defendant has a counterclaim, requesting that Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung and Ms. Le Thi Hong Phuong move out of house number 5 Doan Thi Diem.
