For the first time, the Vietnamese public will have access to one of the classic works of "Chim Cong Lang Mua" - famous Chinese artist - Duong Le Binh.
Accordingly, "Khong Tuoc - The Peacock Hanoi 2026" is considered one of the notable art highlights this year, contributing to diversifying domestic cultural and artistic life and expanding the presence of large-scale international art programs in Vietnam.
Mr. Ngo Hoang Phuc - Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of VietArt Media Joint Stock Company said that the preparation process lasted nearly 2 years, with close coordination between Vietnam - China partners.
The ballet "Khong Tuoc - The Peacock Hanoi 2026" will gather nearly 70 Chinese dancers and technicians, along with the entire system of stage equipment, props and costumes that will be brought to Vietnam originally to ensure the integrity and artistic standards of the work according to international performance standards.
It is known that artist Duong Le Binh produced the ballet "Khong Tuoc" in 2012. As soon as it was released, the work became a special art phenomenon, conquering a large audience and receiving many compliments.
In the play, the image of "Khong Tuoc" is both a bird and a person, symbolizing all kinds of sentient beings in a loving world. The play is divided into 4 chapters: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter with a story revolving around 2 eternal themes: Life and love, using stage language to describe the common emotions of humanity, and at the same time conveying to the audience the reflections and feelings of artists in the process of maturity in art and life.
Through the form of stage art, the play brings a journey to explore the world full of good intentions, as well as a profound interrogation of life and humanity, reflecting humanistic feelings in the harmony between life and art.
After 10 years, the 2022 version is rebuilt and brings a completely new stage look, sophisticated and meticulous in every detail with many oriental aesthetic elements blended into stage art creation.
The 2022 version of the ballet "Khong Tuoc" is directed by famous dancer Duong Le Binh, and also features the participation of an art designer who won the "Best Fine Arts Design" award of the Oscars - famous visual artist - Diep Cam Thiem.
At the same time, Duong Le Binh also appeared as a special actor, personally participating in performing in the "Winter" program. In the cycle of 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, when all things are depleted, the space is immersed in silence, the Khong Tuoc bird dances in the midst of the snowstorm, showing the beauty of awakening and rebirth in the mortal realm of life.
Duong Le Binh also positions herself as a "caller", creating opportunities for many young dancers to take on the main roles, so that they can unleash their own energy on stage, helping each actor express their own unique characteristics.
I see in the actors in this version a wonderful spirit and physical strength. Whether they are transformed into Khong Tuoc or Qua, they all perform extremely harmoniously with their characters" - artist Duong Le Binh said.
By 2025, the ballet has surpassed the milestone of 700 performances worldwide, continuing to affirm the timeless artistic value and the strong vitality of the Khong Tuoc symbol - the soul and endless passion of "dance village peacock" Duong Le Binh.
