In order to promote the next growth phase of the tourism industry, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Traveloka have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation (MoU) to promote Singapore as a priority destination for tourists in five key source markets, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Australia.
This agreement continues the long-term cooperative relationship between the two sides through agreements signed in April 2019, May 2022 and January 2024. This is also the first time the scope of cooperation has been expanded to Australia - one of the important source markets for both STB and Traveloka.
According to the agreement, STB and Traveloka will coordinate to implement four main groups of activities including: implementing co-branding campaigns to promote Singapore on the Traveloka platform; building inspiring content about destinations, helping tourists discover unique experiences in Singapore; implementing promotional activities associated with Singapore's vibrant event system; and sharing data and detailed information on travel trends in a comprehensive form, ensuring privacy, to support STB in optimizing its promotion strategy in each source market.
Ms. Melissa Ow - General Director of Singapore Tourism Authority, shared: "This renewal of cooperation reflects the importance of Southeast Asia and Australia to Singapore's tourism industry, while affirming the strength of the long-term cooperative relationship between STB and Traveloka. With wide access and a deep understanding of how tourists in the region seek and book tourism services, Traveloka is a strategic partner to help us attract high-value groups of tourists and maintain Singapore's attractiveness as a destination that tourists always want to return to.
Mr. Albert - Co-founder of Traveloka said: "Singapore has always been one of Traveloka's most popular destinations and demand from our markets is still growing. Traveloka's role is to become a reliable bridge, connecting the right target customers, understanding travel behavior and experience booking package services on a platform, helping STB tell the story of Singapore to the right tourists. After more than half a decade of companionship, this renewal of cooperation is proof of the trust that the two sides have built together.
In the near future, the two sides will also develop seasonal promotions associated with Singapore's event schedule, and research the application of data-based analysis and emerging artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve destination communication efficiency and tourist content discovery capabilities.
