Awarding the 5th Writing Contest for National Security and Peace in Life

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security's traditional day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025); 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection (2005 - 2025), in order to celebrate the 14th National Congress of Delegates, the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Vietnam Writers' Association organized the launching ceremony of the 5th novel and short story writing contest and signing on the theme "For National Security and Peace in Life".

The contest is organized to encourage, motivate, and create conditions for writers and writers across the country to penetrate the practical work and combat of the People's Public Security force to create literary works that truly and vividly reflect the image of police officers.

It is known that within the framework of the contest, there were 3 creative campes organized in Quang Ninh, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh, gathering hundreds of writers and authors. According to the organizers, many valuable works help the public better understand the People's Public Security soldiers in the cause of building and defending the country in the current situation.

Writer Nguyen Binh Phuong - Vice President of the Vietnam Writers' Association, Chairman of the Final Round Council commented: "The quality of this contest is relatively high, especially in the novel category. Although it is a composition, many works participating in the contest have made a strong impression, touching readers, giving readers the feeling of crossing the creative boundary to approach the authenticity and vitality of practice.

Colonel Tran Cao Kieu - Deputy Director of the People's Public Security Communications Department - Head of the Standing Committee of the contest added that this is not only a pure literary contest, but a cultural - artistic activity with profound political, social and humanitarian significance, contributing to affirming the role of the writer in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and fostering trust and love for the People's Public Security force. In the 3 years from 2022 to 2025, the contest received 140 works with 47 works in the final round and 34 works winning prizes.

The entries this time vividly depicted the current and hot issues of social life; clearly depicted the silent feats, the fierce struggles with crime, and touching stories about the sacrifices and contributions of police officers in real life.

Many young authors have boldly come to this difficult topic, expressing new thinking, modern language, approachable and emotional writing style. Many writers have considered the contest as an opportunity to return to the profession, to write with all their hearts, and with gratitude to those who are living and fighting in real life.
