Awarding the decision to appoint Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huy Dung

On the morning of May 25, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a Conference to announce the Prime Minister's decision to receive and appoint Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung as Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Attending the Conference were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra; Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huy Dung.

Also attending were Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, Standing Member of the Central Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation; Deputy Ministers: Ta Quang Dong, Hoang Dao Cuong, Ho An Phong, Phan Tam, and leaders of units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

At the Conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong announced decisions on personnel work.

Accordingly, in Decision No. 919/QD-TTg dated May 21, 2026, the Prime Minister decided to receive and appoint Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The term of appointment is 5 years.

In Decision No. 295/QD-DUCP dated May 21, 2026, the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee appointed Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the term 2025-2030.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, on behalf of the Government leaders, congratulated the new Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung and congratulated the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for adding a young, capable and experienced leader, especially in the fields of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

The Deputy Prime Minister assessed that comrade Nguyen Huy Dung is an official who has grown up through many different positions, always showing professional capacity, spirit of responsibility and enthusiasm for work. During his work at the Ministry of Information and Communications before, as well as later in other positions, he has made many contributions in implementing tasks related to science and technology and digital transformation.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the transfer and appointment of comrade Nguyen Huy Dung to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is being carefully considered, in line with the development requirements of the industry in the current period, especially when the Ministry is facing many new tasks and strong innovation requirements.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the task ahead of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is very large, requiring the entire sector to focus on thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the spirit of the 14th Party Congress Resolution, Resolution 80 of the Politburo and Conclusion No. 18 of the second Conference of the 14th Party Central Committee.

At the same time, the Ministry needs to urgently implement tasks according to Resolution 28 of the National Assembly on developing Vietnamese culture. In the immediate future, the Ministry needs to prioritize mobilizing resources, intelligence and enthusiasm to develop science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, build and effectively exploit specialized data, and gradually improve management efficiency and develop the industry on a digital platform.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue to innovate management thinking, improve the effectiveness of implementing tasks in the spirit of Resolution 80 of the Politburo. In which, it is necessary to focus on researching and building cultural governance models in the digital environment, while promoting tourism development based on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. This is identified as an urgent requirement to create motivation for the development of the industry in the coming period.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the requirement to improve the efficiency of state management for the press sector. The sector needs to strengthen the application of technology and digital transformation in the management and operation of press activities to meet new development requirements.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his belief that with the tradition and depth of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector, along with the participation of a team of capable leaders, the Ministry will continue to achieve many important results in the coming time.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister expected Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung in his position as Deputy Minister to quickly approach work, promote experience and professional capacity, and make positive contributions to the development of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector as well as the overall development of the country.

Speaking to receive the assignment, the new Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Huy Dung expressed his honor at being assigned a new responsibility, and at the same time sent his thanks to the Party, State and Government for creating conditions for him to train, work and grow.

Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung affirmed that he is always clearly aware of his responsibilities in his new position and determined that he needs to continue to make more efforts to meet the requirements and tasks of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector.

The new Deputy Minister expressed pride in becoming a part of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector, continuing the traditional cultural values of the nation and the spirit of "culture guiding the nation" of Uncle Ho to the action message of General Secretary, President To Lam: "Culture is soft power, is the endless root energy of the Vietnamese nation".

Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung affirmed that he will strive with the leadership of the Ministry and the entire sector to promote the spirit of solidarity, inherit and successfully complete the assigned tasks.
