Micro-Holiday travel trend increases for long holidays April 30

The Micro-Holiday travel trend brings tourists shorter journeys, richer experiences and smarter planning.

The way Vietnamese tourists enjoy a long holiday is undergoing clear changes. As the April 30 - May 1 holiday is approaching, Traveloka - the leading travel platform in Southeast Asia - has recorded a remarkable shift in service booking behavior. Tourists no longer prioritize going far, but they aim for deeper experiences.

This travel trend is called "Micro-Holiday" - focusing on short trips of 2-3 days but planned purposefully, prioritizing the quality of experience over travel distance.

The latest data from Traveloka shows that before the upcoming holiday, demand for short trips of 2-3 days has increased by nearly 40%, reflecting a significant change in tourist preferences as they increasingly prioritize short but more frequent vacations.

The destinations leading the search trend today all have one thing in common: inspiring natural landscapes, clear local identity and experiences that bring a real sense of energy regeneration, instead of just simply playing and entertainment.

At the same time, international destinations in Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia still maintain their attractiveness. Traveloka's data during this holiday recorded positive growth momentum, with total searches for air tickets and accommodation increasing by about 30%.

Today's travelers are approaching travel planning as they make other important decisions in life: having more information, being more purposeful and prioritizing convenience when all needs can be met on the same platform.

Ms. Baidi Li, Vice President of Trade at Traveloka shared: "As a platform serving millions of tourists every day, Traveloka has a clear view of how travel behavior is changing in real time. And what we are witnessing now is a very noteworthy shift: short trips are no longer alternatives, but are becoming a new priority choice.

Tourists are becoming more proactive in choosing destinations, planning earlier and prioritizing truly meaningful experiences. This is a generation of tourists who understand very well what they want from a trip, and our role is to help them easily find it.

In order to meet the increasing demand during the peak tourist season, Traveloka is implementing the Holiday Fiesta campaign with the theme "Celebrating the Great Festival - Passionate Sale" with discounts up to 50% and discount codes worth up to 2 million VND for many tourism services, including air tickets, hotels and entertainment and experience activities.

Users can enjoy daily flash sale hours from 11:00 - 13:00 and 20:00 - 22:00, along with a series of attractive offers and cross-promotional programs between many services.
