Encourage employees to work through Tet
On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025, Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited mobilized 100% of its workforce, with about 1,500 workers, working continuously throughout Tet. The workload was many times higher than usual, all staff were mobilized to work overtime, the goal was to collect garbage as soon as it was generated, creating satisfaction for the city's residents as well as tourists when coming to the Port City in the new spring. To encourage workers, on the 28th of Tet, leaders of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation visited and presented 40 gifts worth 1,300,000 VND to union members of the Urban Environment Company Limited who were in difficult circumstances.
On the third day of Tet, the City Labor Federation also organized a delegation to visit and wish a happy new year to 4 units of the Environmental Service Center, Dinh Vu Waste Management and Treatment Enterprise, Trang Cat Waste Treatment Complex under Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited who worked through Tet, and gave lucky money to the workers.
Ms. Tran Thi Uyen - a worker at Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited - said: "The special job requires us to work through Tet, but with the attention of business leaders and trade unions at all levels, we feel warm and have successfully completed the task of keeping the city clean and beautiful."
It is known that during the 4-day Lunar New Year holiday, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation organized delegations to visit, encourage and wish a happy new year to workers in 12 special units working through Tet such as medical staff, transportation staff and urban environmental workers in the Construction sector, giving more than 200 New Year lucky money packages to workers, each worth 500,000 VND.
Before Tet, Hai Phong City People's Committee allocated 10 billion VND (5,000 gifts) for workers. The city's Trade Unions at all levels coordinated with employers to pay Tet bonuses, use funds and union fees to take care of workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of more than 1,850 billion VND. The budget for Tet care for workers this year increased by 40% compared to last year.
Ready to welcome employees back to work after Tet
Along with the care and concern before and during the Lunar New Year, the Trade Unions and enterprises at all levels have plans to welcome employees back to work from February 3 (January 6). Ms. Ha Thi Hong Nhung - President of the Trade Union of Horn Vietnam Co., Ltd. (An Duong Industrial Park) - said that employees returning to work on the first working day of the new year of At Ty will be rewarded 1 million VND by the company. On January 6, the company's leaders and the Trade Union will also visit, wish a happy new year, and give employees 100,000 VND/person.
“The company has 70% of its employees from other provinces, so the company offers bonuses and notices before the Tet holiday so that employees can arrange their time to return to Hai Phong early and start working and producing from the beginning of the year. The union also supports all bus tickets to and from the employees to encourage them to return to work soon after the Tet holiday. Hopefully, with the care and attention of the company and the union, the working rate on February 3 will reach more than 90%,” said Ms. Nhung.
According to statistics from the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union, after the Lunar New Year, about 65% of businesses have stable orders, 15% of businesses have increased orders after Tet. Most businesses will welcome workers back to work from February 3, some businesses have later production plans so they have not welcomed workers back yet. Like every year, businesses have plans to organize early year contact activities, give lucky money to workers to encourage and motivate workers to work enthusiastically from the first day and hour of the new year.
