14 recognized innovative solutions
Mr. Duong Van Cuong is an operator of the 500kV Quang Trach substation (TBA), Quang Binh Power Transmission Company, Power Transmission Company 2 (PTC2), National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). In 8 years of working in the Electricity industry, Mr. Cuong has always shown a serious and creative working spirit in his work. In the period 2022 - 2024 alone, he and his colleagues have had 14 innovative solutions recognized by all levels, put into application and brought high efficiency.
Prominent among them is a series of initiatives and solutions related to optimizing and comprehensively improving the operation of safe and reliable transformer substations: Improving oil temperature signal sources, 500kV horizontal resistance temperature; automatically controlling Diesel generators to supply self-use power systems; solutions to reduce surface discharge phenomenon of isolated support poles at 500kV substations; researching and installing battery drain monitoring sets and applying software to accurately measure measure measurement parameters and battery system capacity at substations... These initiatives all contribute to the safe and reliable operation of substations and gradually apply automatic and intelligent operation at substations.
Mr. Duong Van Cuong also worked with colleagues to implement innovative solutions to optimize and intelligently operate camera systems and UAVs to monitor power transmission lines. Among them, it is necessary to mention the study of technical characteristics, choosing suitable sources to use for power line monitoring camera systems; using 4G USB to improve operational efficiency for Mavic 2 Eterprise Advanced aircraft; replacing 4G transceiver antennas; automatically stabilizing voltage and supplying load power to power line monitoring camera systems; online monitoring of power source parameters to optimize system operation.
In particular, in the period from 2019-2021, he excellently completed the task of coordinating with colleagues at Da Nang University of Science and Technology to successfully implement the State-level science and technology project "Supervising power transmission lines on the GIS and IoT technology platform".
The initiatives of Mr. Cuong and his colleagues all originate from the reality of work. Thanks to that, not only reduced manual labor but also improved working conditions for the station and transmission line operating forces.
The enthusiasm of youth
To successfully complete the work assigned by the leaders of Quang Trach 500kV Substation and Quang Binh Power Transmission, when doing any work, Mr. Cuong also takes the starting point as enthusiasm, dedication, combining learned knowledge with actual work.
There are initiatives from the time of brainstorming ideas, designing to completion, which must take 6 months, about 4 failures and must be renovated and replaced until completion. But thanks to practical experience, along with determination and the support of construction sites, Mr. Cuong has implemented many initiatives with high applicability in the electricity industry.
Commenting on young engineer Duong Van Cuong, Mr. Vo Nhu Quang - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Quang Binh Power Transmission members - said: At the age of 35, still young, but Mr. Cuong has shown maturity and experience in his work, constantly learning and striving. Besides good expertise, Mr. Cuong also won the second prize in the "EVNNPT Online Running Tour 2023" and many times responded to the "EVN Pink Week" event.
