Economic development, creating additional jobs for 25,320 workers
According to the Binh Duong Provincial Electronic Information Portal, in 2024, the province's socio-economic situation maintained positive development and achieved positive results in all fields. According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, industrial production achieved a fairly good growth rate compared to the same period, key industries recovered positively and stabilized. The index of industrial production (IIP) is estimated to increase by 7.6% compared to 2023 (the plan is to increase by over 8.7%).
Notably, in 2024, businesses in Binh Duong found many orders and had large orders. Since the beginning of the year, businesses have expanded production and recruited more workers. Thanks to that, the labor market in Binh Duong this year is more vibrant.
According to Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, in the first 9 months of 2024, enterprises ensured stable jobs for workers. In the first 9 months, 5,349 enterprises had a need to recruit more than 61,323 workers. Units provided job consultation and referrals to more than 95,300 people (an increase of 95% over the same period in 2023). This year, Binh Duong province created additional jobs for about 25,320 workers.
According to records, this year the employment of workers is stable. Most workers are given overtime and have extra income.
Implement good social security for workers
To ensure the rights of workers, according to Mr. Pham Van Tuyen - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province, the department has directed the provincial Employment Service Center to focus on implementing unemployment insurance procedures for workers quickly and in accordance with legal regulations.

"In the first 9 months of the year, the total number of workers applying for unemployment benefits was 66,553, a decrease of 7.2% compared to the same period in 2023. The total number of workers with decisions to receive unemployment benefits was 53,629 (a decrease of 16.9% compared to the same period last year)," said Mr. Pham Van Tuyen.
In addition, 3,762 unemployed workers were supported with vocational training. The amount of unemployment benefits paid was 1,339 billion VND. The amount of vocational training support paid was 16.2 billion VND.
The assessment shows that the number of people in need of vocational training support increased by 32.8% compared to the same period last year. This shows that the unit's efforts in consulting and vocational training for unemployed workers as well as the spirit of improving the skills of workers are increasingly enhanced. Thereby, contributing to increasing the rate of workers with vocational certificates participating in the labor market.
In addition to timely payment of insurance benefits for unemployed workers, the Binh Duong Trade Union also actively supports workers in difficulty. During the 2024 Lunar New Year and Workers' Month (May 2024), the Binh Duong Trade Union mobilized over 350 billion VND to support workers in difficulty. Thereby contributing to stabilizing the lives of workers in Binh Duong, and better implementing social security policies in Binh Duong.
Many new job opportunities are created.
According to forecasts, the expected recruitment demand from now until the end of the year will require about 10,000 to 15,000 workers, especially in the manufacturing, mechanical garment, electronics, service, sales, and education industries... Thus, it is forecasted that the Binh Duong labor market in the coming months will continue to develop with many new job opportunities being created.
