According to the Vietnam Labor Market Update Bulletin for the first quarter of 2026, employers require candidates with university degrees to account for 40.8% of total demand.

According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, the update of the Vietnam Labor Market Update Bulletin for the first quarter of 2026 shows that in the first quarter of 2026, regarding recruitment trends: The requirement for university degrees or higher accounts for 40.8%; the requirement for college and intermediate degrees: 34.7%; the requirement for workers with technical expertise/general labor: 20.8%

Employers recruiting personnel are employees accounting for 61.1%; middle managers: 20.5%; senior managers 14.1%; temporary jobs 4.3%.

Regarding experience requirements, 60.2% of employer positions do not require experience; 28.7% of positions require less than 2 years of experience; 10.9% of positions require 2-5 years of experience; 0.6% of positions require more than 5 years of experience.

Meanwhile, regarding job search trends, the characteristics of job seekers are as follows: 48.5% have university degrees or higher; 32.1% have college and intermediate degrees; 22.2% have technical expertise. 44.1% of job seekers apply for employee positions; 28.5% seek mid-level management jobs; 10.11% seek senior management jobs; 17.3% seek temporary jobs.

Regarding the age of candidates, 45.4% are from 30-39 years old; 37.1% of candidates are from 20-29 years old.

Also in Q1/2026, the 5 industry groups with the largest recruitment demand include: Processing and manufacturing industry; logistics-transportation; trade-retail; construction-real estate; information technology.

The 5 occupational groups with the highest recruitment demand include: Sales staff; marketing-communications; IT-programming; technical engineers; logistics-warehousing.
