1 fisherman fell into the sea, not found after many hours of searching

Quang Binh - A fisherman in Bao Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city) fell into the sea more than 80 nautical miles from the mainland and is still missing.

On May 27, the People's Committee of Bao Ninh commune (Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province) confirmed that a local fisherman had just had an accident at sea and had not yet been found.

According to information from fishing boat QB-91207-TS owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (residing in Bao Ninh commune), at around 10am the same day, while the boat was on its way back to shore, crew member Pham The Nhan suddenly fell into the sea.

The location of the accident was about 81 nautical miles east of Nhat Le estuary. After discovering the incident, the ship owner immediately sent a distress signal and mobilized surrounding ships to participate in the search.

Currently, there are 5 fishing vessels actively coordinating to search for missing crew members in complicated offshore weather conditions. The authorities have also been notified to assist in the search and rescue process.

Local authorities said they are continuing to closely monitor the situation and coordinate with relevant agencies to support the victim's family, and called for more boats in the area to participate in the search.
