On May 25, the commander of Truong Sa island (Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa) said that the island's military medical forces are actively treating a fisherman with serious health problems while fishing at sea.
The patient is Mr. Vo Tan Nuoc (56 years old, residing in Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province), crew member of fishing boat BD 98967-TS.
According to initial information, at around 4:00 p.m. the same day, while operating at sea, Mr. Nuoc suddenly showed symptoms of severe pain in the left lumbar area, and acne in every attack.
After taking painkillers but not relieving them, he was taken to Truong Sa Island for emergency care at 8:30 p.m.
Here, military doctors examined and diagnosed Mr. Nuoc with left kidney pain, grade 2 renal expansion (monitoring the cause of kidney stones), along with urinary tract inflammation and high blood pressure.
The patient is currently being closely monitored and actively treated. Treatment regimens include pain relief, smooth muscle relaxation, lower blood pressure, fluids and antibiotics to stabilize health.
