As Lao Dong Newspaper reported at about 0:40 on March 30, 2026, Hanoi Police received a report of a fire in the warehouse and workshop area on Pham Tu street, Thanh Liet ward.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center mobilized 12 fire trucks, 3 trucks carrying vehicles, 4 fire command vehicles, 2 fire robots and nearly 100 officers and soldiers from 8 Fire and Rescue Teams quickly arrived at the scene to deploy fire fighting and rescue operations.

At the same time, Hanoi City Police mobilized 2 more tanker trucks carrying water from Thanh Tri Urban Environment Enterprise, 4 excavators, and 5 trucks carrying fresh concrete to the scene to participate in firefighting. Forces including commune police, forces participating in protecting grassroots security and order, and civil defense coordinated to organize security and order assurance in the area.
Leaders of Hanoi City Police and commanders of the Fire and Rescue Police Department urgently arrived at the scene to directly command firefighting and rescue operations.

According to Hanoi City Police, the area where the fire occurred is a cluster of warehouses and factories for rent with a total area of about 6,000 m2, mainly structured with steel frames and corrugated iron roofs with many different functions. Among them, the largest fire area is a workshop producing wood and mica plastic - flammable materials that generate a lot of smoke and toxic gases when burning. At the time of the fire, the weather was windy, causing the fire to spread quickly.

At about 2:30 am on the same day, the fire was basically under control. During the firefighting process, functional forces searched, discovered 1 victim who died in the fire and handed it over to medical forces (currently verifying and clarifying personal information).

The Director of Hanoi City Police continued to direct forces to focus on cooling and extinguishing embers, not allowing the fire to flare up again; and at the same time urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the fire for handling according to the provisions of law.
