On New Year's Eve of the 2026 New Year's Day, Ho Chi Minh City organized fireworks displays at 6 locations. There are 3 high-altitude fireworks display locations including the area at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (An Khanh ward), the new city center (Binh Duong ward) and Tam Thang square (Vung Tau ward).
In which, the firing point at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel area is the largest in scale, with 1,260 high-altitude fireworks, combined with 60 low-altitude fireworks and 10 artworks.
Notably, in the area at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel, the program arranged a special firecracker set with 100 large firecrackers, along with many newly shaped artwork sets. Besides familiar shapes, the program for the first time appeared shapes such as rice flowers, laurels, azaleas, creating highlights for New Year's Eve 2026.
According to the construction unit, this year's color effect is brighter and sharper, the amount of smoke is reduced, helping viewers clearly observe the shapes and movements of fireworks.
The fireworks display time is from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2026.
Regarding the allocation in localities, Binh Duong and Vung Tau each point is expected to use about 500 high-altitude fireworks and 60 low-altitude fireworks. The remaining points mainly fire low-altitude fireworks, with a quantity of about 90 fireworks per point.
To ensure security and safety, right from 5 am on December 31, in the area at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel, about 150 officers and soldiers of the police, military forces, militia and technical personnel were mobilized, focusing on deploying the installation and fixation of artillery mounts, traffic diversion and ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety.
