During the 2026 New Year holiday, Hanoi will arrange 5 areas with a total of 6 high-altitude fireworks display sites combining low altitude and fireworks.
Fireworks display time is 15 minutes, from 11:45 PM on December 31, 2025 to 0:00 AM on January 1, 2026.
Fireworks display locations include: Two battlefields in Hoan Kiem ward (in front of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper office and in front of Hanoi Post Office); Thong Nhat Park coconut island (Hai Ba Trung ward); F1 race track (Tu Liem ward); Lac Long Quan flower garden (Tay Ho ward) and Van Quan lake (Ha Dong ward).
In the two battlefields at Hoan Kiem Lake alone, each battlefield has 700 high-altitude fireworks; low-altitude fireworks each battlefield has 60 platforms and many fireworks platforms.
Especially this year, for the first time, people in the Capital can admire fireworks fired from 3 locations located in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake.
According to Lao Dong's records on December 30, at the fireworks battlefield in the Hoan Kiem Lake area, officers and soldiers of the Steering Committee for Area Defense 3 - Hong Ha (Hanoi Capital Command) have completed the installation of the launch tube system.
On December 31, officers and soldiers will continue to implement artillery linkage according to the scenario.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Viet Hoa, Commander of the Steering Committee for Area Defense 3 - Hong Ha, said: Implementing the direction of the City and the Hanoi Capital Command, officers and soldiers of the unit are actively and urgently completing the preparation and installation of artillery systems, ensuring the successful and safe organization of fireworks displays.
Inspecting the preparation work of units at the fireworks battlefield in the Hoan Kiem Lake area on December 30, Major General Luu Nam Tien, Political Commissar of the Hanoi Capital Command, reminded officers and soldiers of units to uphold responsibility, strictly comply with military discipline, unit regulations, well implement patrol and guard regimes, maintain political security, order, social safety; prevent and combat fires and explosions, ensure absolute safety before, during and after fireworks displays, contributing to serving people to visit and welcome the New Year 2026 happily and safely.
This year, in addition to fireworks displays, Hanoi city also organizes the New Year 2026 (Countdown 2026) program with the theme "Real connection", taking place from 7 pm to 0 am on December 31, 2025 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian street space.
According to a survey by Lao Dong, the 2026 New Year holiday lasts for 4 days, but many families and young people still decide to stay in Hanoi throughout the holiday.
