In the past 6 hours, from 3 am to 9 am on September 22, many areas of Da Nang had moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some places. Rainfall recorded at the Phu Ninh reservoir headwaters reached 63.8mm; Nui Thanh 58.2mm; Cau Lau 56.6mm; Ky Phu 54mm; Tam Ky 52.8mm; Tien Phong 52.6mm; Binh Duong 50.8mm; Hoi An 50.4mm.
Notably, the soil moisture model shows that some areas have reached a state of near saturation, over 80%, increasing the risk of landslides. In the next 6 hours, Da Nang will continue to have rain, scattered heavy rain and thunderstorms; common rainfall is 5-30mm, in some places over 50mm.
The meteorological agency warns of the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas; landslides on slopes and subsidence in 18 communes, including: Chien Dan, Phu Ninh, Tam My, Duc Phu, Nui Thanh, Tam Anh, Tam Xuan, Tra Lien, Son Cam Ha, Tay Ho, Thang Phu, Thanh Binh, Tien Phuoc, Tra Giap, Tra Leng, Tra My, Tra Tan and Viet An.
The level of natural disaster risk is determined at level 1. Flash floods and landslides can threaten people's safety, cause localized traffic disruption and affect civil and production works.
