On December 5, Hanoi City Police held a workshop on "Handling administrative violations in the electronic environment in the field of traffic order and safety", chaired by Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Hanoi City Police.

At the conference, Colonel Tran Dinh Nghia - Head of the Traffic Police Department (CSGT), Hanoi City - reported on the current situation and handling of administrative violations of traffic safety.
At the same time, the Head of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department stated that in the context of unsynchronized traffic infrastructure but rapidly increasing traffic volume, population and transportation activities, the task of ensuring traffic safety for the Hanoi Traffic Police force is increasingly heavy.
According to Colonel Tran Dinh Nghia, applying technology, digital transformation and building a Smart Traffic Management - Command - Information Center is an urgent requirement, in order to improve the capacity to monitor, forecast and optimize traffic organization.
Currently, the Traffic Control Center of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department has been invested in and upgraded in phase 2; it is expected that by December 10, 2025, it will operate a system of 1,837 cameras and a lighting system using artificial intelligence (AI), automatic control according to traffic data.

The goal of the system is not only to " cool down", but also to reduce congestion, modernize infrastructure, improve State management capacity and build a civilized urban lifestyle.
The AI camera system can automatically detect common violations such as running red lights, driving in wrong lanes, stopping and parking in violation of regulations; at the same time, warn of traffic jams and detect vehicles under monitoring such as stolen vehicles and vehicles causing accidents and running away.
In addition, the system allows real-time adjustment of traffic light cycles, shortening or extending light phase depending on flow, contributing to significantly reducing the need to arrange traffic police forces to directly regulate traffic, while improving accuracy and transparency in management.
At the conference, representatives of relevant units also presented presentations.
From the results of the workshop, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung requested units to carry out a number of key tasks in the coming time, focusing on propaganda, contributing to raising people's awareness in complying with legal regulations on traffic order and safety and handling administrative violations in cyberspace.
At the same time, continue to handle typical traffic violations that are causes of traffic congestion and traffic accidents.
