In the afternoon of May 1st, a drowning incident occurred at a beach in Mui Ne ward, Lam Dong province, killing 1 person.
According to initial information, at about 3 pm on the same day, Mr. N.T. D (born 2009, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) and his older brother went swimming in the sea. While swimming, both brothers were swept away by the waves.
Discovering the incident, a tourist promptly rescued his brother and brought him ashore safely. Mr. D drowned and was swept away by the waves and went missing. Local people used water motorbikes to organize searches but without results.
About 10 minutes later, the victim was discovered drifting ashore.
Mr. D was brought ashore for first aid on the spot. After that, an ambulance transferred the victim to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, the victim died.
Mr. D and his relatives came from Ho Chi Minh City to travel to Mui Ne and rented a villa to stay. In the afternoon of May 1st, while swimming in the sea, they encountered the tragic incident above.
Police forces were present at the scene, carrying out procedures according to regulations. After completing the autopsy, the victim's body was handed over to the family to take home for funeral arrangements.
