On the afternoon of November 27, a representative of the Quang Ngai Provincial Border Guard said that EQ Logis Company, headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, had contacted the relevant unit regarding the three gas tanks that drifted ashore at Binh Son beach three days ago.
According to the company representative, three tanks on the ship on the way from Thailand to South Korea fell and drifted ashore, but the shipping unit did not detect the incident. Currently, the three tanks are empty, so there is no risk of causing an environmental incident.
Quang Ngai provincial authorities are waiting for the company to carry out legal procedures to confirm ownership of these tanks.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on November 24, 3 cylindrical tanks, measuring 6x2.5 m, fixed with iron frames, drifted to the shore of Le Thuy village, Binh Tri commune, Binh Son district, and were discovered by Binh Thanh Border Guard Station and local residents. Authorities anchored the tanks to the shore to ensure the safety of boats, and asked local residents not to approach.
