On the morning of September 27, Sinh Ton Dong Island Infirmary (Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa) received and treated 3 fishermen who had an accident while fishing in Truong Sa.
On the same morning, while fishing near Sinh Ton Dong Island, Nguyen Duy Phong (21 years old), Do Thanh Duong (20 years old), and Tran Huu Nghia (21 years old, all residing in Phu Quy District, Binh Thuan Province) were diving 14 meters deep to catch fish when they encountered an accident. All three were crew members on the fishing boat BTh 97759 TS, captained by Tran Quang Y (born in 1984).
The incident occurred after diving and surfacing, the 3 people experienced fatigue, dizziness, pain in their ears, chest, stomach, and legs. Although they were taken care of by the crew, their health did not improve.
Afterwards, the three victims were taken by a fishing boat to the Sinh Ton Dong Island Infirmary for emergency treatment and were diagnosed by medical teams with decompression sickness due to deep diving.
Currently, the infirmary doctors have asked for professional advice from the military medical staff at the upper level for further treatment.
