On the afternoon of April 6, information from Nam Ninh Hoa Commune Police said that at about 1:30 pm on the same day, 4 students residing in the locality invited each other to swim in the stream area in Van Khe village, Nam Ninh Hoa commune, Khanh Hoa province.
While swimming, V.Q. B (born in 2012, 8th grade student, Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School, residing in Tan Hung village, Nam Ninh Hoa commune) unfortunately drowned.
Immediately upon receiving the news, local police quickly arrived at the scene, coordinating with people to organize searches. At about 3:30 pm on the same day, police and people found B's body and brought it ashore.
Nam Ninh Hoa Commune Police then reported the incident and coordinated with professional units of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police and the People's Procuracy of Region 4 to conduct scene examination and autopsy to clarify the cause of the incident.
Nam Ninh Hoa Commune Police also recommends that people, especially parents and students, need to raise their awareness of safety when swimming in rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, especially on hot sunny days. Parents should not let children swim freely in deep water areas without adult supervision.
