On December 22, Ba Ria General Hospital (Tam Long Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that it was treating dozens of patients hospitalized for food poisoning, suspected to be caused by eating bread.
Of which, the Department of Infectious Diseases is treating about 15 patients; the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics also have many patients being treated. In total, the hospital has received and treated about 42 cases.
The patients had severe abdominal pain and were hospitalized for treatment, and the common point was that they had previously eaten bread from N.H's shop in Phu My ward (HCMC).
According to Ba Ria General Hospital, some mild cases have stabilized and have been discharged from the hospital; some severe cases are still being monitored for their health. The hospital has also taken samples for testing and reported to the Department of Health in accordance with regulations.
After the incident, the authorities worked with the bakery; at the same time, samples of food were taken to be tested, clarifying the cause of the incident.
