On December 17, according to Lao Dong Newspaper, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just decided to sanction administrative violations in the field of food safety against Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Kim Ngan commune.
According to the decision, the school has committed many violations of food safety regulations, including processing and supplying food that causes food poisoning affecting the health of 5 or more people but not to the extent of criminal prosecution; not having a certificate of food safety training for the facility owner; using people directly processing food without a certificate of food safety training.
The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has fined the school a total of 196.5 million VND and suspended all food processing activities in the school's kitchen for a period of 5 months.
Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities will cover all costs for handling the poisoning case, examining and treating the students.
On the same day, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do Van My - Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities said that he had received a decision to fine the Provincial People's Committee for 3 acts of 196.5 million VND.
This is too much money, the school does not have the budget to pay the fine. The school has written a document to the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune to support the fine payment.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of September 26, 40 students of the school had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment after meals due to suspected food poisoning. During the inspection and verification of the incident, Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue was suspended from work twice to serve the investigation and clarify related responsibilities.
