According to the decision of the Hai Phong City Prison sentence reduction Council, in this phase, there are a total of 46 prisoners serving sentences at Detention Center No. 1 who are eligible for a reduction in their prison sentences. Among them, 7 prisoners have their remaining prison sentences revoked, officially received release decisions, and returned to reintegrate into the community. The remaining cases are approved by the Council to reduce their prison sentences depending on the level of reform.
The prisoners who received sentence reduction decisions this time are all individuals with good learning, labor, and reform processes, strictly complying with the regulations of the detention facility and meeting the emulation standards according to the provisions of law.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Ngoc Duc - Deputy Warden of Detention Center No. 1 emphasized that this is a humanitarian and lenient policy of the Party and State towards those who have made mistakes and know how to repent. Lieutenant Colonel Bui Ngoc Duc also encouraged inmates who have not been reduced sentences in this phase to continue to strive and well comply with regulations to soon be eligible to enjoy the lenient policy in the next phases.
