Tan Son Nhat Terminal T3
Tan Son Nhat Airport's T3 Terminal, with a total investment of 11,000 billion VND, has completed 83% of its volume after more than 2 years of construction.
The project is expected to be completed on April 30, 2025 - the largest domestic passenger terminal in the country with 20 million people, increasing the total capacity of Tan Son Nhat airport to 50 million passengers per year.
Mr. Le Khac Hong - Head of Tan Son Nhat T3 Terminal Project Management Board said that the entire project has more than 2,000 engineers and workers working with many deployment teams to speed up progress.
The project consists of four main items: Passenger terminal, high-rise parking garage combined with non-aviation services, overpass system in front of the terminal and aircraft parking lot.
Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road
Outside terminal T3, Ho Chi Minh City is implementing the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project, with a total capital of more than 4,800 billion VND.
This newly built route is 4 km long, directly connecting T3 station, opening more access to Tan Son Nhat airport and breaking the monopoly at the entrance on Truong Son street.
After 2 years of construction, the project has reached about 90% of its volume, and has opened to traffic from the Phan Thuc Duyen - Tran Quoc Hoan underpass (the beginning of the route) to Hoang Hoa Tham street.
The remaining section (from Hoang Hoa Tham to the end of the route) is expected to be handed over before February 20, 2025 and completed and opened to traffic before April 30, 2025, ready to serve the T3 terminal when it comes into operation.
An Phu Interchange
After 2 years of construction (starting at the end of 2022), the 3-storey An Phu intersection project (Thu Duc City) with a total capital of more than 3,400 billion VND has reached more than 65% of the total volume.
Of which, Ba Dat bridge located on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway and Giong Ong To 2 bridge (connecting Mai Chi Tho street with Dong Van Cong street) have been completed.
Five overpasses in the area are also being implemented, including: Bridge N3 and N4 at the Mai Chi Tho - Dong Van Cong intersection; Bridge N2 turns right from Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to Mai Chi Tho; Bridge N1.1 and N1.3 turns left from Mai Chi Tho to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
The entire An Phu intersection project will be completed by the end of 2025. In addition to reducing congestion in the area, it will also increase traffic capacity to ports, connecting the Southeast region and Long Thanh airport.
My Thuy Interchange
Also in Thu Duc City, My Thuy intersection has a total investment of more than 3,600 billion VND, with a scale of three floors. Previously, in phase one, major items were completed such as: Ky Ha 3 Bridge; left-turn underpass from Ring Road 2 to Cat Lai Port; overpass on Ring Road 2; My Thuy 3 Bridge.
However, due to difficulties in site clearance, the project was later suspended.
In April 2024, the project started construction of the remaining items such as Ky Ha 4 bridge, the overpass branch across the intersection in the direction of Ring Road 2 (right branch), Ky Ha 3 bridge (right branch), the overpass for vehicles turning left from Cat Lai to Phu My bridge.
The entire My Thuy intersection project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, helping to reduce traffic jams and accidents at the gateway to Cat Lai port.
Highway 50
The project to expand National Highway 50 through Binh Chanh district (from Nguyen Van Linh street to the border of Long An province) is nearly 7 km long, with a total capital of nearly 1,500 billion VND.
Of which, 4.2 km is a new route parallel to National Highway 50, the remaining part is to widen the existing road to 34 m, with 6 lanes.
At the end of 2024, the parallel route of National Highway 50, the section bordering Trinh Quang Nghi route to the existing National Highway 50 intersection, nearly 2 km long, will be open to traffic.
The entire project will be completed by the end of 2025, helping to increase traffic connections between Ho Chi Minh City, Long An and the Western provinces, while also linking with key routes such as Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, Ring Road 3, and Nguyen Van Linh Avenue.
