On September 1, information from the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone (An Giang) said that regarding the case of 5 people drowning while swimming in the sea, 2 people have been discharged from the hospital, 2 people are conscious and 1 person is in a deep coma.
Initial information, the drowning victims include: T.T.D (43 years old), P.V.L (34 years old), all residing in Ben Tram quarter, Phu Quoc special area, who were slightly injured, and asked to return home. T.H.A (12 years old, Ben Tram neighborhood) and L.H.K (25 years old) are currently in the intensive care unit, alert, well-connected, and still breathing oxygen.
The victim L.R (34 years old, foreign) was in a deep coma, completely on a ventilator, and was transferred to Vinmec International Hospital.
Previously, on the afternoon of August 31, in the coastal area of Quarter 7 - Duong Dong, Phu Quoc special zone, there was a group of tourists swimming in the sea. The big waves caused 5 tourists to drown, people and hotel staff promptly rescued the victims to bring them to shore and performed emergency procedures, taking them to Phu Quoc Medical Center for treatment.
