On October 1, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune (Quang Tri province) said that by the morning of the same day, 75 boarding students of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities had not yet returned to class after the recent suspected food poisoning incident.
In this situation, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune have coordinated with mass organizations to visit each household to mobilize and discuss with parents.
At the same time, the People's Committee of the commune also directed the school's Board of Directors to organize a meeting with all parents, to encourage and motivate students to return to class soon, ensuring that the teaching plan is not interrupted.
On the same day, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province sent a document to the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune and Kim Thuy Primary School, requesting the implementation of solutions to stabilize the situation and continue organizing teaching and learning.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training requires schools to closely coordinate with local authorities, strengthen propaganda and explanation work so that parents can feel secure in bringing their children to class. At the same time, urgently rectify boarding work, review the entire eating process, and ensure food safety for students.

Schools need to adjust teaching plans to suit reality, arrange review time, consolidate knowledge for students; assign teachers and staff to monitor and support school psychology. The implementation results must be updated daily, reported to the Department of Education and Training and the People's Committee of the commune for timely direction.
For the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, the Department proposed to strengthen inspection and supervision of food safety at educational institutions with boarding and daycare students; at the same time, urgently inspect, verify and thoroughly handle the suspected mass poisoning case at Kim Thuy Primary School, clarify responsibilities and strictly handle violations (if any).
Currently, the government and the Quang Tri education sector are making efforts to coordinate to stabilize the situation, bring students back to school soon, ensure the right to study and a safe educational environment for them.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on September 26, after breakfast at Kim Thuy Primary School, 40 students suspected of being poisoned had to be hospitalized for treatment, and are now stable.
The incident was also controversial when the clip recorded the Vice Principal preventing students from going to the hospital despite medical staff's request for an urgent transfer, until parents put new pressure on the students to hospitalize. The Commune People's Committee is verifying the incident.
