After nearly 80 weeks of operation, the Green Future Fund (established on July 7, 2023) has affirmed its pioneering role in Vietnam's Net Zero commitment, spreading green transformation to dozens of provinces and cities across the country.
Diverse green areas have been formed, from SM Green electric taxis, VinBus buses, to green foliage planted by young volunteers in remote areas.
The journey of "greening" with smokeless vehicles
In the field of Green Mobility - Vingroup's pioneering mark in the green transformation, the campaigns have attracted a large response from people nationwide, most notably the campaigns "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future", "For a Green Capital" which have supported tens of thousands of customers to switch from gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles, deploy public electric bicycles in Vinhomes green urban areas, promote the use of VinBus electric buses... have contributed to significantly reducing CO2 emissions.
VinFast and V-Green have rapidly expanded their nationwide charging station system, facilitating electric vehicle users and promoting green transportation. VinFast's modern electric vehicle experience events attract a large number of people, raising awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles.
After more than 1 year of operation, Xanh SM has put into use more than 90,000 vehicles, made 171 million green trips, reduced nearly 131 thousand tons of CO2, equivalent to 6 million trees photosynthesizing in 1 year. This achievement helped Xanh SM win the Asocio Award (ESG Category) and the Human Act Prize 2024.
Every customer using VinFast and Xanh SM contributes to supporting the Green Future Fund to carry out meaningful community activities, spreading green actions across the country. With nearly 200 billion VND contributed from the Green Point Accumulation Program of VinFast and Xanh SM, the Fund and Vingroup ecosystem have implemented many practical projects, aiming to build a green, clean and beautiful Vietnam.
Creating a green - civilized - classy living community
In parallel with promoting green mobility, the Fund also focuses on raising awareness and changing community behavior on Green Lifestyle. The most prominent and large-scale activities are the series of activities of the Green Living - Civilized - Classy Clubs deployed throughout Vinhomes' modern and smart urban areas, receiving the support of millions of residents.
Held regularly every week, the activities have attracted tens of thousands of enthusiastic residents to participate. To date, 100% of Vinhomes residents have classified waste at source, and classified nearly 1,100 tons of recyclable waste. In particular, practical initiatives to optimize energy use have made Vinhomes a pioneer in saving electricity, reducing emissions of more than 6,000 tons of CO2, building and spreading a Green Lifestyle for each community of residents.
Spreading green lifestyle to the whole community
For nearly 80 weeks, the Green Future Fund has created and expanded green lifestyles across the country, reaching all communities and ages. The Green Voice Contest, the focus of community activities, has gone through 2 seasons with nearly 4,000 ideas from 6,000 high school students in 61/63 provinces and cities, contributing young voices for a green future.
The Green Future Foundation has coordinated with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to organize the ASEAN Eco-Schools 2024 competition, honoring nearly 50 eco-school models across the country.
During the Green Summer 2024 campaign, the Fund and 7,000 students from 30 universities carried out projects to improve the lives of more than 30,000 people in 12 provinces. More than 23,500 meters of remote roads were lit by solar lights, hundreds of trees were planted, bringing shade and green beauty to the locality.
The Green Future Fund and Vingroup are contributing to building a green, sustainable Vietnam. In the coming time, the Fund will expand its activities, develop green agriculture, cooperate domestically and internationally, build a green community network, and support the Government's project to plant 1 billion trees, aiming to reduce net emissions to "0" by 2050.
