Faced with the serious damage to many trees due to the infrastructure construction process, the Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Management Center (under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport) has increased inspection, review and emergency handling. According to the report, 90 endangered trees were cut down, including 30 type 3 trees, 57 type 2 trees and 3 type 1 trees.
Many other trees have also had their branches trimmed to reduce the load and limit risks.

Although many measures have been implemented, the unit still believes that there is a potential long-term risk of insecurity for trees on construction routes. The cause may be due to un detected damages or negative impacts from the construction process.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Technical Infrastructure Management as of March 26, trees on 54 streets in Districts 1, 5, 6, 11, Tan Phu, Tan Binh, Phu Nhuan, Binh Thanh, Go Vap, Cu Chi District were affected by sidewalk construction activities.

The unit has proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport coordinate with the Department of Construction Inspectorate to inspect and handle violations of tree protection by investors and construction units.
Issue documents recommending districts and towns to rectify investors and construction units, and take sanctions against violations.
Continue to strengthen the review, inspection and treatment of trees on construction routes for upgrading and repairing sidewalks, especially in the upcoming rainy season.
