According to the An Giang Provincial Forest Protection Department, it is currently the peak dry season of 2026, the weather is dry, the water level of some canals in the forest has dried up, flammable materials in the forests have dried up, are very flammable, and the risk of forest fires is very high.
According to forest fire warning information on early fire warning information of the Department of Forestry and Forest Protection and through the results of forest fire forecast information reports of regional Forest Protection Departments, some areas in the province have forest fire forecast levels from level III (high level - prone to forest fires) to level V (extremely dangerous level - with the risk of large forest fires, rapid fire spread).

Faced with the complicated and unpredictable hot weather situation, and increasingly intense drought, the Forest Protection Department proposes:
Newspaper and radio agencies promptly and continuously announce daily on news bulletins so that localities, forest owners and people know and proactively prevent.
Regional Forest Protection Departments regularly coordinate with local agencies and units to organize patrols and inspections of key areas at risk of forest fires and strengthen the preparation of 24/24 hour/day on-duty forces to promptly respond when forest fires occur.
People's Committees of communes, wards, special zones and related organizations and individuals provide information and propaganda, warnings and forest fire forecasts continuously daily on mass media so that people know and proactively prevent.
Forest owners' units strengthen the implementation of urgent forest fire prevention and fighting measures, arrange additional stations, posts, camps, forces, vehicles, and equipment suitable for each key area, ensuring 24/24 hour/day on-duty forces according to the "4 on-the-spot" motto. Strengthen propaganda and legal education on forest fire prevention and fighting, strengthen inspection and supervision of forest fire prevention and fighting.
