Appreciating the generation of reporters
After 10 years of formation and development, Con Son community tourism (Binh Thuy ward) has long become a bright spot of Tay Do land in particular and the Mekong Delta in general. On that journey, tourism workers here still remember the companionship of the generation of reporters in the Mekong Delta, in which Lao Dong Newspaper stands out.
Meeting me again in the last days of July, Ms. Phan Kim Ngan (commonly known as Bay Muon, Director of Con Son Agricultural Tourism Cooperative) emotionally said: "In those days, when we met guests, we didn't dare to talk. Thanks to the journalists' detailed guidance, from walking, speaking... then step by step, we escaped poverty without realizing it.
Ms. Le Thi Be Bay (community tourism consultant in Con Son) still remembers vividly the days of getting acquainted with each household, each farmer to persuade them to participate in tourism.
I had the opportunity to meet and get acquainted with journalist Hoang Tuyen, director Do Khue, director Nguyen Ai Nam, journalist Le Thanh Nguyen (Lao Dong Newspaper) and many other journalists. It was them who encouraged, nurtured the spirit, as well as wholeheartedly guided, suggested and accompanied us little by little" - Ms. Be Bay recalled.
According to Ms. Bay, currently, green tourism and regenerative tourism are becoming a trend and with the existing foundation on the fertile land, people always make sure to be worthy of the expectations of tourists, local authorities and the press force.
Towards a new stage, people hope that Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to be a reliable information channel, and at the same time participate in consulting and orienting Con Son to build a standard eco-tourism model, harmonizing people's livelihoods with the overall development of the region.
Constantly innovating
In Con Son, people always have the view of doing tourism in association, sharing livelihoods to maximize value. Orderly division of work has created a closed value chain, diverse experiences for tourists.
For example, at Cong Minh's garden house, Mrs. Bay Muon is famous for her skillful folk cake making. Her son - Mr. Ho Cong Minh - serves young rice flakes and raises bees to get honey for tourists. Meanwhile, Mr. Ly Van Bon - owner of Bay Bon fish raft - is a pioneer garden house with a model of raft houses raising rare fish; and also has fish massage activities for tourists.
Or even Mrs. Ban Thi Xieu (87 years old) who, in addition to making "phu the" cakes to serve customers every day, still thinks about how to innovate tourism.
Mr. Tran Hoang Huy (28 years old, a tourist from Vinh Long province) shared: "I have been to Con Son before and when I returned, I was really surprised. Each garden has a good point that makes me go forever without knowing fatigue".
For me personally, Con Son is never old. Although I have visited here many times, every 2-3 months, I am surprised by the new features of this land. However, what holds me deepest is still the warmth from the friendly meals, eating and telling stories of the people.
Con Son people always consider the brothers and sisters of Lao Dong Newspaper as family members. They always hope that the generation of reporters will have practical suggestions. This place is always open to welcome them back, gathering together for a community meal of Con Son Agricultural Tourism Cooperative" - Ms. Bay said.
