On October 8, the Ministry of Public Security and Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee held an inauguration ceremony and handed over 1,300 houses to poor households, near-poor households, households with housing difficulties, families with meritorious services to the revolution, Khmer ethnic people, and people who have made many positive contributions to the movement of All People Protecting National Security in Tra Vinh province.
Attending the ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Party Central Committee member, Minister of Construction; Mr. Le Ngoc Quang - Party Central Committee member, General Director of Viet Nam Television and leaders of Tra Vinh province.
Responding to the movement "Joining hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", recently, the Ministry of Public Security has mobilized resources to support the construction of over 15,000 houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties in 15 provinces and cities across the country.
From the budget mobilized by the Ministry of Public Security of 65 billion VND, Tra Vinh province contributed 19 billion VND to build 1,300 houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties, of which 50% was for Khmer people.
The project was implemented in 9 districts, towns and cities of Tra Vinh province. After 4 months of implementation, with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain" of the Board of Directors of Tra Vinh Provincial Police, local Party committees, authorities and each officer and soldier, by August 11, the project had completed the construction of 1,300 houses, 1 month ahead of schedule.
The completion of the construction of 1,300 Great Solidarity houses and the handover and donation to put them into use have helped people have stable housing, peace of mind in working and producing, developing family economy, improving their lives, contributing to building a solid people's security posture, consolidating trust and cohesion between the police force, the government and the people, ensuring security and order at the grassroots level.
At the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security - acknowledged and highly appreciated the spirit, responsibility, close coordination, efforts, and overcoming of difficulties of relevant units, especially the core role of officers and soldiers of Tra Vinh Provincial Police.
The Minister of Public Security believes that, with the new living conditions, the people will have new motivation and spirit to work and produce with peace of mind, actively participate in the movement of the whole people to protect national security, ensure social order and safety, build a solid people's security posture, and at the same time spread humane values, become a beauty in community life, and further highlight the tradition of humanity of the Vietnamese people.
On this occasion, the Minister of Public Security awarded certificates of merit to 20 groups and individuals; the Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 12 groups and individuals to recognize and commend their achievements in supporting and effectively implementing the construction of houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties in Tra Vinh province.
