On September 26, in Hang Pu Xi village, Xa Dung commune, Military Region 2 coordinated with Dien Bien province to organize the inauguration ceremony and hand over houses to people affected by flash floods and landslides in 2025.
Colonel Trinh Duc Thiem - Commander of the Military Command of Dien Bien province said that with a sense of responsibility that is not afraid of difficulties and hardships, after 45 days (from August 11 to present) the entire renovation of 80 houses in the communes of Muong Luan, Na Son, Tia Dinh, Xa Dung, and Sin Thau has been completed.
In addition, 241 houses have also been supported to repair and complete all repairs.
Of which, 80 new houses were built with an amount of 100 million VND/house; 241 houses were renovated and repaired with a value of 30 million VND/house.
The houses that have been newly built and repaired must be synchronous, solid, suitable to actual conditions and customs of the people, contributing to helping people soon stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Xuan - Deputy Commander of Military Region 2, acknowledged the responsibility and affection of the officers and soldiers of the units who have joined hands to complete the renovation and repair of houses for people in flooded areas.
Major General Nguyen Van Xuan said that the completion and handover of the new houses is a vivid testament to the spirit of solidarity and cooperation for the community of the Party, State, the Fatherland Front, the Ministry of National Defense, Party committees at all levels of Dien Bien province and the armed forces of Military Region 2 for people affected by natural disasters in the province.
The Major General also hopes that after receiving the new house, the people will always preserve and use the house sustainably, continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, diligence, and creativity to build an increasingly prosperous and happy life, absolutely believe in the leadership of the Party and the strength of great national unity.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the heavy rain lasting from the night of July 31 to August 2, in Dien Bien province caused flash floods and terrible landslides, causing heavy damage to people and property in mountainous communes.
Natural disasters have killed 10 people and injured 14 people; 1,401 houses; 100 traffic works; 62 irrigation works, domestic water... were severely damaged.
