According to information from Vietnam Social Insurance (VSS), XXVIII Regional Social Insurance (Dong Nai - Binh Phuoc) has paid a total of more than 208 million VND from the Health Insurance Fund to Mr. L.Q.N (40 years old, residing in My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province) - who once reported to CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company regarding the issue of unsanitary food.
Regarding the incident involving employees at CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Mr. Pham Minh Thanh - Director of XXVIII Social Insurance - confirmed that this agency has received and monitored information related to Mr. L.Q.N.
According to Director of XXVIII Social Insurance Region Pham Minh Thanh, Mr. L.Q.N, born in 1985, signed a fixed-term labor contract from February 5, 2023 to February 4, 2026 with CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, working at a branch in Can Tho City as an office worker. He was fully registered by the enterprise to participate in social insurance and health insurance from the beginning of 2023 at Dong Nai Social Insurance.
However, on June 1, 2025, the Company issued a decision to terminate the contract with the reason of "arbitrarily quitting work without a legitimate reason for 5 consecutive working days (1.4 to 23.5.2025)" and requested the Social Insurance agency to close the social insurance book for employees.
This also means that Mr. N's health insurance card has expired, because the enterprise has stopped paying social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance.
Data on the system shows that Mr. L.Q.N started dialysis treatment at H General Hospital (Soc Trang province) in August 2023.
During the treatment process, the Social Insurance paid a total of VND 208,624,630 from the Health Insurance Fund for hospital fees, medicine, and treatment for him.
According to Mr. L.Q.N, since April 2023, due to severe kidney disease, the Company has allowed him to work online at home. He is regularly treated at two hospitals in Soc Trang.
Thanks to the health insurance card, all treatment costs are covered by the Social Insurance. However, on June 3, when he went to the hospital for regular dialysis, he was informed that his health insurance card had expired and he had to pay about 700,000 VND for the treatment session himself, instead of being paid 100% as before.
From Mr. L.Q.N's story, the Social Insurance agency continues to advise people and employees to proactively participate in health insurance, not to let time interruption, whether it is compulsory or voluntary. Because with many diseases that require long-term treatment such as dialysis, health insurance is an important "backbone", helping to reduce financial burden.
In fact, in many cases, social insurance agencies have paid hospital fees up to hundreds of millions, even billions of VND to patients with health insurance cards.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, on the morning of May 30, a social media account posted an article with the content saying that he had worked at a meat distribution store in My Xuyen district (Soc Trang province). This person accused the store and some leaders of bringing the meat to the market with poor quality.
The poster informed that the above behavior will seriously affect public health and hoped that the authorities would investigate and strictly handle if violations were discovered.
