Protecting the construction of the Central Highlands connecting road: 5 households still protest

Xuân Nhàn |

Binh Dinh - On the morning of November 4, Tay Son district authorities mobilized forces to protect the construction of bottlenecks in the XL01 package, the Central Highlands Connection Project.

The project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands region (143km long, total investment of 155.8 million USD, of which 150 million USD is borrowed from the World Bank) has been completed after many delays. Only the XL01 package - 17km through Tay Son, undertaken by the Bac Trung Nam Infrastructure Construction Joint Stock Company - is still unfinished. The reason is persistent obstruction from some households.

Faced with the pressure of progress due to the upcoming expiration of the Loan Agreement, the Ministry of Transport strongly urged, and the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province directed the Tay Son district government to "urgently develop a detailed and feasible plan, implement site clearance of all remaining problems, and ensure completion before November 5, 2024".

According to the plan approved by the People's Committee of Tay Son district, the construction protection will take place from November 4 to 6, focusing on 3 "bottlenecks" in the two communes of Tay Giang and Tay Thuan.

Before the application of protective measures, the traffic jam in Tay Thuan related to the section Km56 + 000 - Km56 + 080 in front of Nui Da motel was cleared.

In Tay Giang, 5 households still protested and obstructed by blocking vehicles and machinery... The construction protection force persistently persuaded them. On the afternoon of November 4, at the Tay Giang Commune People's Committee Headquarters, the group of 5 households continued to dialogue with representatives of the Tay Son District People's Committee.

According to Project Management Board 2, Ministry of Transport, the time for the contractor to complete the planned schedule is 2 days.
