Quang Ngai has completed the arrangement of 1,710 villages and residential groups into 1,098 units. After arrangement, 100% of new villages and residential groups meet the standards according to regulations, overcoming the situation of villages and residential groups with too small scale, not ensuring standards for the number of households. Because the area after the merger is expanded, the pressure of work is greater, requiring the team of village heads and residential group heads to truly be strong "extended arms" of the grassroots government.
The election of village heads and residential group leaders in the remaining communes and wards in the province will be completed in July. The election results will create a premise for new villages and residential groups to quickly go into stable operation.
Currently, many communes and wards in the province have organized elections for village heads and residential group leaders after completing the work of rearranging the scale of units. The election is implemented according to the motto "People trust, Party nominates", creating consensus and promoting the spirit of responsibility of voters.
According to Truong Quang Trong Ward People's Committee, the election of the head of the residential group for the term 2025 - 2030 took place simultaneously in 16 residential groups in the ward on July 19. This is a widespread democratic activity in the residential community, where each citizen directly exercises the right to be a master, choosing a representative for the voice, belief and legitimate aspirations of the people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung - Chairwoman of Truong Quang Trong Ward People's Committee said that immediately after the election, the locality will quickly consolidate the titles in the residential group so that the newly elected personnel can promptly start working. These are people who represent the people, are an important bridge between the government and the grassroots level, contributing to the effective implementation of tasks and socio-economic development targets of the locality.
According to Project No. 10 of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, personnel elected to these positions must first ensure general standards: have firm political bravery, absolute loyalty to the Party, State and people; have good moral qualities, a clean and exemplary lifestyle.
At the same time, they must have practical capacity, high sense of responsibility, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility; have prestige, ability to mobilize people; have appropriate age and health to successfully complete assigned tasks.
