Speaking with Lao Dong on December 18, Chairman of Gia Hoi Commune People's Committee Lo Van Tan said that at around 9:30 p.m. on December 17, at the home of Lo Thi Duyen (34 years old, Nam Vai village, Gia Hoi commune, Van Chan district), an abandoned baby was discovered.
"At that time, the baby was about 1 week old and was placed on the porch of Ms. Duyen's house near the national highway. She was a female, wrapped in a light gray blanket, wearing a white baby hat and accompanied by a blue plastic basket containing baby items, but nothing else. Up to now, the baby's biological parents have not been identified," said the Chairman of Gia Hoi Commune People's Committee.
Mr. Lo Van Tan added that whoever is the biological father and mother of the child should go to Gia Hoi Commune People's Committee to complete the procedures to receive the child, within 7 days.
After the above deadline, if no one comes to claim the child, the Commune People's Committee will proceed with birth registration and other related procedures for the child according to the provisions of law.
