According to the reporter's investigation, the character in this story is Trinh Hong Vinh - a 4th grade student at an elementary school in Hoai Huong ward (Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh).

In addition to sending money to support, Vinh also personally wrote a letter to his fellow countrymen in the North. He wrote: "Dear everyone, my name is Trinh Hong Vinh, I am studying in grade 4B at Hoai Huong Primary School No. 3. I have been watching my phone and seeing many Vietnamese people dying from floods and storms. I have some spare money that my aunt Hai and my parents gave me. I have saved it since grade 1 to buy a transformer superhero. Now I ask my dad to send it to my friends who are affected by the floods. I will save the money to buy a superhero later."

The amount of money saved for 4 years, 1.7 million VND, along with a letter with neat and weak handwriting from Vinh, moved and applauded netizens, because they did not expect the 4th grade student in Binh Dinh to be so understanding.

Facebook account Brian Nguyen commented: "A sensible child is definitely a well-educated child. Thank you child and family!".

"Really touched and thankful for the little guy with a kind heart," account Nhon Le shared.

On the afternoon of September 14, sharing with Lao Dong, Mr. Trinh Hong An (born in 1984, Vinh's father, currently working at the Hoai Huong Ward Police, Hoai Nhon Town) - said that in recent days, every time Vinh saw videos recording the devastation in the North caused by storms and floods, images of children crying for their mothers in the rain and floods... he took all the money he had saved over the years and asked his father to send it to the people in the flood-hit areas of the North.

"Yesterday afternoon (September 13), after coming home from work, I saw the mother and son counting the change, stacking it into piles, and finding it was 1.7 million VND. Vinh said, "This is the money I saved to buy the toys I like, please send this money to my friends in the North, and I will save the money to buy the toys later." I looked at him, both happy and moved," said Mr. An.

According to Mr. An, the amount of 1.7 million VND was collected from 1,000 and 2,000 VND bills that his son had saved for many years, since kindergarten until now.
