On September 11, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province announced that Chairman of the People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan had established two medical working groups to support Thai Nguyen and Yen Bai provinces, which were heavily affected by storms and floods.
Accordingly, the Working Group has more than 60 members participating in supporting and coordinating with local health agencies in flood-affected areas to carry out environmental sanitation activities, disinfect water sources, and prevent epidemics... Time from September 13 to September 19, 2024.
The working group will support 700kg of Chloramine B powder (350kg per province) from the warehouse of the Provincial Disease Control Center (Binh Dinh Department of Health); 20 bases of flood and storm prevention medicine and 4,000 medicine bags for households, sponsored by BIDIPHAR.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, the total local budget registered to support provinces in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 on the first day of the appeal was 12 billion VND. Of which, direct support at the mobilization session on the afternoon of September 11, 2024 was 5 billion VND.
Quy Nhon Urban Parks and Lighting Joint Stock Company sent two teams to support Hanoi and Hai Phong cities in cutting down fallen trees after storm No. 3.
Binh Dinh telecommunications enterprises (VNPT, Viettel, Mobifone, FPT Binh Dinh) sent working groups to Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Hai Duong to support telecommunications damage recovery.
On the same afternoon, sharing with reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Sang (residing in Nhon Hai commune, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh - also known as Mr. Tu Hon Kho) - said that he and more than 30 members of the volunteer group are on their way to bring goods, necessities, and rescue vehicles to the North to support people in areas heavily affected by storm Yagi.
"Our team prepared food and essential supplies such as mineral water, instant noodles, fresh milk, fast food, medicine, clothes, blankets, pillows, etc. to help people in flood-hit areas. The team also sent four jet skis to the northern provinces to participate in rescue efforts.
I was born and raised in Binh Dinh - a province in the Central region that is often heavily affected by storms and floods, so I understand the hardships of the people when natural disasters strike. Seeing the devastation in the North caused by this storm and flood, my colleagues and I could not bear it, so we decided to form a relief group and quickly go to the North to share the hardship with our fellow countrymen," said Mr. Sang.
