After selecting the winning bidder, the construction unit will move the amount of waste at the factory of Ben Tre Waste Treatment Plant to Phu Hung landfill.
According to Mr. Ngoan, there are currently 3 households still stuck in site clearance. In the coming time, the authorities will continue to mobilize to hand over clean land to investors for implementation.
Phu Hung landfill has an area of 7.33 hectares, closed by Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee in 2018. According to the land use planning of Ben Tre City for the period 2021 - 2030 and the land use plan, this landfill area is still kept as landfill and landfill.
To receive the amount of waste from Ben Tre Waste Treatment Plant, the authorities will convert 3 biological ponds into landfill cages at Phu Hung landfill to contain the above amount of waste.
In addition, to ensure the environment, before unloading, the waste at the above factory will be sprayed with biological products and chemicals to treat the odor before transportation. When moving to the new landfill at Phu Hung landfill, it will continue to be sprayed, packaged and covered with tarpaulin on the same day to minimize the odor affecting the surrounding environment.
After completing the garbage transportation, the entire landfill will be covered with tarpaulins to close the doors, preventing rainwater from coming into contact with the waste, causing leachate and the risk of leakage outside, and preventing odor from affecting the surrounding area.
According to the investigation of Lao Dong newspaper reporters, on July 21, 2023, Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee issued Official Letter No. 4373/UBND-TCDT on unifying the implementation of the restructuring and investment plan for Ben Tre Waste Treatment Plant. On September 14, 2023, the Working Group on the construction of Ben Tre Waste Treatment Plant of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 5637/KH-TCT on the implementation of the restructuring and investment plan for Ben Tre Waste Treatment Plant (Ben Tre Waste Treatment Plant).
