On October 9, Vung Tau General Hospital sent a document to Ho Chi Minh City Police and Phuoc Thang Ward Police requesting strict handling of the man who assaulted a medical staff while working.
According to Vung Tau General Hospital, at around 9:00 p.m. on October 7, patient N.T.S ( admitted to the hospital from September 30.9) showed signs of worsening and was at high risk of death. Therefore, the doctor on duty in the Intensive Care and Poison Control Department and the team actively performed emergency resuscitation for the patient; at the same time, invited the patient's family to explain the condition, but at this time there were no family members at the hospital.
Therefore, a nurse called the family's phone number to notify. At around 9:36 p.m., a man claiming to be a relative of the patient was admitted to the hospital.
At this time, the on-duty doctor had not yet explained the condition, but this person shouted away curses and scolded the on-duty team, used humiliating words, used his hands to hit a nurse named Th in the face and head on duty. As a result, the nurse suffered from dizziness and could not continue working.
According to Vung Tau General Hospital, the man's above behavior has seriously affected the health and spirit of medical staff, more seriously, it is likely to affect the lives of other patients (severe cases) being treated in the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department.
Therefore, Vung Tau General Hospital recommends that the authorities strictly handle the case of a patient's family member assaulting a medical staff in accordance with the provisions of law.
