On April 1, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee Do Thanh Binh and Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Canh Tuyen directly inspected the construction site of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project (component project 2), the section passing through Can Tho City.

During the inspection at Thi Doi bridge, the leaders of Can Tho city requested the investor to connect with An Giang and Tien Giang provinces to solve the source of sand for filling, ensuring the source of materials for the project. In addition, mobilize human resources and construction equipment to speed up progress to meet the Prime Minister's instructions.
Mr. Le Minh Cuong - Director of the Can Tho City Construction Investment Management Board said that the project has reached more than 26% of the construction progress. The project has 5 packages, including 4 main construction packages and 1 transportation safety system construction package. As of March 31, the project has disbursed 97.8 billion VND out of the total capital plan for 2025 of 1,117 billion VND, reaching a rate of 8.75%.

Regarding the source of filling sand materials, the investor requested the People's Committee of Tien Giang province to continue to support the implementation of material exploitation procedures as well as promptly determine the sand price at An Nhon and Hoa Hung 4 mines in Cai Be district; Ngu Hiep 1 mine in Cai Lay district.
The investor also requested An Giang province to continue to guide the procedures for receiving sand sources returned from the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project to ensure a source of materials for the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project, the section passing through Can Tho city.


Mr. Truong Vu Thang - Construction Commander of Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company - said that the unit is in charge of constructing 2 bridges on the route including Thi Doi Bridge and Dong Phap Bridge. And in 2025, the unit's tasks will be completed.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang (horizontal) expressway project phase 1 is over 188km long, passing through 4 provinces/cities: An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang. The scale of phase 1 includes 4 lanes, with a design speed of 100km/h. The total investment of the project is about 44,700 billion VND.
